Getting Started

19th June 2015

Welcome to my new blog.

This will be a little space for me to indulge my passions for all things lovely, be they fabrics, interiors, buildings, gardens, flowers, food, places or other things that I love.

These musings will hopefully be enhanced by a few photos collected along the way. Please pop back every now and then for a catch up.

I really enjoy spending time in the garden at this time of year so thought I would start with a few photos of what’s blooming and visiting out there at the moment.

My first rose to flower each year is always Alister Stella Gray, a delicate creamy yellow with masses of blooms. This one was grown from a cutting by my mum and has now clambered up a drainpipe to reach the eaves. As it’s quite an early flowerer we have a clematis Blue Angel growing through it for later in the summer. I love my red peonies but I must say I do hanker after some pale pink ones.

There are wild bits in our garden which I’m quite happy about, especially when they reward you with displays like this. Yes, I even love dandelion clocks.

We are also lucky enough to have local fauna who regularly pop their heads over the wall for a chat, or in the case of the baby deer jump over the wall to check out the planting. I haven’t seen any damage so I’m happy with that.
